The Brooklyn Nets are a professional basketball team based in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. They are a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as well as an original member of the American Basketball Association (ABA).

Vince Carter

Vincent Lamar "Vince" Carter was born January 26, 1977 and currently plays professional basketball for the Dallas Mavericks. He's a shooting guard, but can also play small forward. Carter played three years in college for the University of North Carolina. While playing for the Tarheels, he reached the NCAA Final Four twice before he was selected fifth overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Gold State Warriors. He was immediately traded to the Toronto Raptors and won the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year Award.

Jason Collins

Jason Collins plays professional basketball with the Washington Wizards in the NBA. Collins attended Stanford University, where he was an All-American in 2000–01. Later he was selected in the first round with the 18th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft. Collins played for five other teams before landing with the Wizards in 2013. Collins is due to become a free agent in July 2013 and has stated his intentions to pursue another contract. On April 29, 2013, Collins became the first active male professional athlete in a major American team sport to publicly state he is gay.
