Stephen Curry

Short bio:

Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry II (born March 14, 1988) is a professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Listed at 6 ft 3 in tall and weighing 190 lb, Curry plays the point guard position and is considered by some to be the greatest shooter in NBA history. The 2015 NBA Most Valuable Player and a two-time NBA All-Star, he is the son of former NBA player Dell Curry.

Curry played college basketball for Davidson. There, he was twice named Southern Conference Player of the Year and set the all-time scoring record for both Davidson and the Southern Conference. During his sophomore year, Curry also set the single-season NCAA record for three-pointers made.

Curry was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. During the 2012–13 season, he set the NBA record for three-pointers made in a regular season with 272. The next season, Curry and teammate Klay Thompson set the NBA record for combined threes in a season with 484 as the pair were given the nickname the "Splash Brothers". In 2014–15, Curry eclipsed his own record by knocking down his 273rd three-pointer on April 9, 2015, finishing the regular season with 286 three-pointers and was named MVP after leading the Warriors to a franchise-record and NBA-best 67 wins on the season.

On May 13, 2015, in a 98-78 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-finals, Curry became the fastest player to make 100 three-pointers in the playoffs, reaching the milestone in 28 games. Ray Allen held the previous record at 35. In addition, Curry became the first player in NBA history to have six three-pointers and six steals in a single playoff game. Three days later, in the series-clinching Game 6 victory, Curry made a playoff career-high 8 three-pointers, en route to 32 points, including a buzzer-beater from behind half-court. Curry propelled the Warriors to their first Western Conference Finals since 1976. On May 23, in a 115-80 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, Curry broke the record for three-pointers made in a single post-season with his 59th coming in just 13 games.

Dear Steph, As I watched the end of the recent game in the final series, I was struck with how personally aggressive and unethical some of your opponents were, and was impressed with how the GSW continued to persevere, showing finesse, true sportsmanship, and integrity. I've been encouraged to see that you honor God with your talent. The Lord put it on my heart to pray for you and the team as you go into this final game of the season. It's interesting how it's also Father's Day. May you know that your Heavenly Father is watching over you and delights in how you honor Him. God gave me these words from the Bible for you and your team, for today in particular: 2 Chronicles 20:15-17..."Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them [today], and the Lord will be with you." You have great talent and team strength, praise God for how you have been blessed. He is pleased with how you shine for His Glory. Continue to praise Him as you play. Blessings to you and the amazing GSW team. You're true All Stars!

You played valiantly against a tough team. You continued to shine and you displayed true sportsmanship throughout. How you respond in the battle is what truly counts - you've shown great character and you are a strong team. So proud of you. The Lord is with you, watching over you. May you know Him more and more. Blessings to you and your families.

Happy Father's day! You shall pursue, and overcome. I pray for you Ephesians 3:20- Now unto him who is able to do far above, abundantly more than you ask or think according to the power that works within us...all glory be unto Christ. You are a winner. May Christ be glorified in you tonight in Jesus name.

I'm Will Smith, an undersized, exceptionally skilled high school PG from Arkansas with mediocre athletic ability. I'm a follower of Christ and a lover of basketball and family. Steph Curry, you are my role model. You gave me inspiration and hope. Even though I may never play college basketball, you paved the way for players like me. Not because you aren't as big as LeBron, and not because you don't move as fast or jump as high as Westbrook. It's because you changed the game, through love and dedication. I watched you with my dad and brother at Davidson, I saw you get drafted, I was reminded multiple times of you never being anything in the NBA after your ankle injuries. I was also there when you won your first MVP award, and your first Championship. Then the second MVP. Game 6 in OKC, my dad and brother surprised me with tickets and I came to that game. I cried and I laughed and I've loved all while watching you and the Warriors play. For the past two years I've been called a bandwagon fan because of others jealousy you and the team. The impact you've made on my life without even ever met me has been huge. The love you have for Christ and the example you set for young people is inspiring. It makes me want to shine Gods love and light in this world even more. I understand that Steph Curry sins also, you are not perfect. But God is bigger than the mistakes you and I both make. I've cried tears of joy and tears of sorrow watching the Warriors. Last night my heart was broke for you guys. I hope you enjoy your summer and all the things in life that really matter. You've got the right idea on life and that more than anything is why I would call you my Role Model. You are officially in the same category as my dad and older brother. I hope that I can meet you one day, and also watch you play again.. hopefully this time at home along with the other Dubs fans. As a brother in Christ I say thank you. Thank you for paving the way. Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for inspiring. Thank you, Steph. Thank you.

Hi Stephen,

I am just an old guy at 84 serving as an evangelical missionary in Brazil. But I want to tell you how much of an inspiration you are to young and old, especially as an athlete with character and an excellent work ethic.

Your humble attitude, although at the height of fame and fortune, is a testimony to all of us of your high respect for our Living Lord who gave you the talent plus and the determination and dedication needed to excel.

And what a treat to see how you guys do the impossible over and over again in such a harmonious fashion!

No doubt about it. Your team's 73 win season was a great accomplishment! Your 4 losses in the finals, although disappointing, does not diminish what your team had achieved during the long regular season!!

What an encouragement to see a guy like you, a team like yours, and a wonderful family like yours in times like these! Rare indeed!

With gratitude and admiration,
Earl Mets

First off you are a great basketball player and a better person. I also have a question. Is the tattoo on your upper left arm a hitmaker or something else?

For the last couple years I have always heard Steph Curry is such a decent, modest, and humble person who gives back to his community. For example, with his ‘Nothing But Nets’ charity he demonstrated his willingness to give back.
I love to watch him play. I teared up watching him accept his MVP trophy.
I was then shocked to learn about his recent basketball camp in Hawaii; 3.5 days with accommodation for $2,250 per child!
It pretty much wipes out all the good thing I knew/heard about him. It is sad see such an outrageous amount for a basketball camp which make him look like just another greedy celebrity.
As much money as he makes, I would have expected him not make such a profit on the camp but instead charge an amount that makes it affordable for the average child to attend. I hate to see him trying to cash in on his fame. It’s so disappointing. I known he turned down a chance to represent our country at the Olympics. I thought he would be resting and not busy trying to make more money.

I am your biggest fan! I recently started watching the NBA and now I love it! A girl in my class was always talking about it so I thought that I should watch a game. I live in Toronto so I wanted to watch their game and cheer them at home. I started watching ad got involved into the game! My soft cheering turned into yelling "Go Raptors!!", "Amazing shot Lowry!" and more. After that my family started enjoying watching the games and we continued. One day, I switched to the channel and saw te GSW playing. While watching I saw a player that immediately grabbe my attention by te level of his skill! I saw his jersey# and name. I searched up his name and watched some videos of him! He was incredible!!! Since then Stephen Curry has been my favourite and will always be no matter what people say or do nothing can change my mind!

Dear Mr. Curry,

I'm inspired by your leadership.Your works and words of wisdom have inspired me to become a better leader. For example, when you got the 2015-16 MVP award and you gave praise to God, it made me want to tell my friends that aren't Christians about Him. Your wisdom would be great to share with my class.

I understand that you are very busy with off-season training, and it's a waste of money to fly down to talk to some middle schoolers, but is there a chance that you would be available to come to my middle school leadership class for a brief interview? I know you'll probably say no, but I wanted to give it try.

If you somehow can, we meet on Monday's for 10 to 10:55 and Wednesday's from 12:50 to 1:45. Specifically, we would like to ask you about your experience in your leadership position- how did you get there? Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your consideration.

I hope you'll at least consider coming down before you decide.

Sincerely,
Brendon and the Santa Fe Christian Leadership Class.

Dear mr. Curry I am a father of a 12 year old daughter her name is Isabella Lane. She has been playing basketball for the last three years she's almost 6 foot tall anyway she looks up to you as a mentor both spiritually and athletic. We recently moved from the south to the north where down south she excelled in basketball end up here she had tryouts yesterday and the coach told her she needs to learn the fundamentals of basketball. What I'm asking of you is nothing monetary just maybe some words of encouragement for my daughter which is my heart. She gives 100% in any sport she plays and not making the basketball team was heart-wrenching for her and me. She is very spiritual loves God love her church what I'm asking is if you could maybe message her on my email address and let her know not to give up the good fight and treat this as a learning experience instead of something negative. If you could do this for her I know it would lift your spirits, Respectfully yours Isabella's dad

is this a reliable address to send a photo taken by my grandson at one of steph curry's games? is there a specific size of photo that needs to be sent?

Submitted by Cory on

The address listed is good for contacting Curry or any other Golden State Warriors player or staff.

As for sending an item to be signed, you are taking a risk doing that. There is no guarantee that the letter will get to the Warriors, that they will have Curry sign it (rather than giving you one of their autographed photos they send out), or that the autographed picture will return safely to you when they mail it back. People do it all of the time in the autograph hound world, but the key is to be emotionally ready to deal with never having that item back again. It is always recommended that you get sentimental/expensive items autographed in-person only and never through the mail.

Hello Mr. Steph Curry,
I'm writing on behalf my daughter, Ally. She is 10yrs old and a youth of faith. She is your #1 fan. She used her own birthday money to purchase your jersey. She watches you playing during a game, and aspires to play with the tenacity and skill as you. She excels in school with her academics making honor roll and receiving awards. Your team will be 2hrs away from our home to play Orlando Magic; however, it's not in our budget due to my need to have surgery on Jan 24th. If you would simply write her back or say he name (Alexandrea Wilkins) during an interview she would be thrilled. We hope to, next time, be able to attend your game. Blessings,

I read in the news today that you had a concern about the comment that UnderArmour CEO made that President Trump is an asset to our country. Your comment as published said you agree if you eliminate the et. If you did say this, I consider this respectful and desires an apology. Even though you may not agree with President Trump, we as Christians need to respect those that God chooses to be our leaders. We can disagree with our leaders and still be respectful. I respect you as a great Christian example to our young people so don't ruin it. I like the result of your conversations with Under Armour. Keep it a business relationship and respect the opinions of others even if they do not agree with your opinions. Hope you get and see this email. Keep up the great job with the Warriors. Respectfully, Nat Fruci from Charlotte, NC

Hi Steph, I am a huge fan of yours, but I am hugely disappointed that you would put your politics into your game. It is devisive! and we don't need anymore of that. We have problems in America, and we need to work together to solve them. I believe that you are a Christian, as I am, but your speech does not show it when you referred to the president. When something is done illegal in a game there is a foul, a consequence. We have too many illegal things going on in our country that go unpunished. i am not against the people, but illegal entry should not be protected, just as any illegal activity. Sanctuary cities should use the more than a billion dollars they get from the gov't to clean up their cities. Take are of the homeless, the mentally ill, the drug invested neighborhoods, etc. Get those able to work get jobs, etc. What a wonderful thing that would be for our citizens and our cities. I can think or many things that could be done to bring people together of all classes, religions, ethnic backgrounds, etc. If people like you would speak up about finding cures instead of bad mouthing the president, we'd begin to find a way to be one nation under God and justice for all. Justice includes consequences for illegal activity. The 90 day ban on immigration is being talked about by corporate leaders as if it were permanent. Their misrepresentation is equal to lying. That is terrible. The countries the President named are the very ones that Obama declared as terrorist nations. For the good of our country we need to work together rather than be divisive! Please keep you politics to yourself unless it is unifying.

Steph

Have always enjoyed your play and values on and off the court and this comment comes in love not a slam. I am disappointed as a fellow Christian that you would use your platform to call our President a ASS as I don't see how that works as a Christian or a role model.
A lot of what our President is accused of is media driven and even the remark on woman could be a issue for woman not allow themselves to be used as a trophy but as a person that is of worth.
I believe he is far from a racist or wants to hurt the LGBT community.
Our nation needs a healing and I believe it could start with role models such as yourself to always gind the good our President needs this he has a long way to go but I believe in our nation and have a blessed day and awesome season.
