Ryan Braun

Short bio:

Ryan Joseph Braun was born November 17, 1983 in Los Angeles, CA. Braun was a four-year letterman on the Granada Hills High School baseball team, and three-year team captain and Most Valuable Player. He was offered several scholarships, including from Stanford University, but chose to attend the University of Miami.. not on a baseball scholarship, but an academic scholarship.

The Milwaukee Brewers drafted Braun in the first round (fifth overall) in the 2005 major league draft as a third baseman, and he signed for $2.45 million. The Brewers brought Braun to spring training in 2007 when their regular third baseman, Corey Koskie, was suffering from post-concussion syndrome, and missed the entire year.

On July 22, 2013, MLB suspended Braun for the remainder of the 2013 season. It's a total of 65 games and the postseason for his involvement with the Biogenesis clinic based in Florida.. Braun did not appeal the suspension. In a statement, he said, "I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions." ESPN reported that Braun decided to "strike a deal" with MLB after being presented with the evidence against him for using performance-enhancing drugs.
