Good morning! I am not sure I am going about this the right way, but figured I would never know and would hate myself if I didn't at least try! My step dad is a member for the US Air force. His name is Neal Rutter, and he is the most hard working and patriotic person I know. He is retiring after 32 years of loyal service...and is less then thrilled about it. Needless to say after that long we are all trying to make it a day to remember. Everyone has got him great gifts... and I have been asked what he really wants a dozen times. He bleeds red white and blue... and green and yellow. We have a DUCK room in our house. They only decorations allowed is DUCKS and the memorial for my brother, who is no longer with us but also served our country. It's the two things that mean the most to him. He has made a recent exception, for the "most genuine raw athletic player in football" (his words), we now have Tennessee Titan gear in the Duck room!
So, this long shot, haymaker if you will, is just to see, is there any chance we could send him out the way he deserves with something magical to add to his room? I dream of a signed football, a visit from Marcus himself, or puddles to do 32 push ups at his retirement party (October 2 at 11am in Klamath falls Oregon on base at Kingsley Field)! These are long shots I know, but he has served so we can be dreamers... thank you for your time! Have a great day!

Dear Mr. Mariota,
Thank you for your example as a Hawaii student-athlete.

I am heading a Titan Project which is about 30 Hawaii athletic directors going to Nashiville, Tennessee from December 9 - 14 for an athletic director’s conference. There is a game scheduled for Sunday, December 11 and we will all be attending that game (don’t worry we not asking for free tickets). I am hoping we (Hawaii athletic directors) can meet you after the game for photos and autographs.

I’ve emailed, I guess a place where we can schedule you for the meet and greet, but we do not have that kind of money to pay that site. Or you can invite us to your house for a Hawaii party (if that is allowed). Just tell us what you want to eat and we will do our best to bring it to you.

I hope you get this letter, as you will make a lot of people in the group very happy to meet you. Don’t worry, I’d rather go to an Oakland game, please don’t take me the wrong way. I just prefer Oakland.

Hi Marcus,

My husband and I are huge fans of yours. We’ve been watching you since your days as a Duck. We are so sad to see that you’ve had hamstring problems this season. My husband and our family use a medical device called the Bemer. It is a device that allows your body to do what it does but to do it better. For example, it will heal injuries quicker. It will improve recovery following a tough work out. Every time we watch you we think that this device would be perfect for you. I’m sure there are tons of people giving you advice on things that you could buy. We’re not trying to sell you anything we’re just telling you what has worked in our family. Both of our daughters are high-performance rhythmic gymnasst. One of them is on the Canadian national team. And she has had incredible results from the use of the Bemer. If you are interested in checking it out go to And if you never use the Bemer that’s OK too, We just hope that you have a speedy recovery and that the rest of your season goes amazing. Cheering for you and your team here in Canada !

Hey Marcus, my 16 yr old grandson has been a die hard fan since you first became a Duck. He's flying in for Sunday's game in Phoenix then straight back to the airport and back to Clackamas, Or. in time for school on Monday. Any chance for a meet and greet the morning of the game? Thanks, and kick the Cards butt. Grandpa Mike

I haven't forgotten what you and your Oregon teammates did for our community when the Oso mudslide took one of our students. It meant a lot.
When you are trying to carry everything on your shoulders, look back at the difference you made to others and draw some strength from that!
You are a class act.
