Birth Name:
Amethyst Amelia Kelly
Genre:
hip-hop, pop
Music Category:
Rapper
Best Known For:

"Fancy"

Short bio:

Iggy Azalea, is an Australian recording artist and model from Mullumbimby, New South Wales. She left for the United States at the age of 16, to pursue a career in hip hop music, first residing in Miami, Florida, and then other parts of the South, including Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. She first gained recognition after the respective music videos for her controversial songs "Pu$$y" and "Two Times" went viral on YouTube. In September 2011, she released her debut mixtape Ignorant Art and subsequently aligned herself with Atlanta-based rapper T.I.. In March 2012, T.I. announced Azalea's signing to his record label imprint Grand Hustle, as a result she released an EP executive produced by T.I., titled Glory, in July 2012. She later went into professional modeling, when she became represented by Wilhelmina Models and was announced the "New Face of Levi Jeans". Also in 2012, Azalea became the first female and non-American rapper to be featured on XXL's annual Top 10 Freshman cover issue.

After label conflicts, her debut studio album The New Classic was finally released on 21 April 2014, under Virgin EMI and Def Jam Recordings. The album debuted inside the top five of several charts worldwide and received generally mixed reviews. The album was preceded by four singles, "Work", "Bounce", "Change Your Life" (featuring T.I.) and "Fancy" (featuring Charli XCX). "Fancy" went on to reach number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, with Azalea becoming only the fourth solo female rapper ever to top the Hot 100. Additionally, with Azalea featured on Ariana Grande's single "Problem", which rose to number two on the Hot 100, the same week "Fancy" topped the chart, Azalea joined English rock band The Beatles, as the only acts to rank at numbers one and two simultaneously with their first two Hot 100 hits. Additionally, Azalea went on to pass Lil' Kim, as the female rapper with the longest-leading number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 and moved into a tie for fifth place, among lead women who have scored the longest commands on the Hot 100 this decade.

Having just turned 70 and not much into rapping, I saw Iggy Azalea for the first time on the Dick Clark New Year's Eve performances. I was blown away with her; the way she moves her body, her voice, her presence on stage. She has an essence that I cannot describe adequately but that is powerful. What I loved about the way she moves her body is that she was not slutty, but graceful and artistic. So happy to have found you Ms. Iggy. Keep moving foward.

In the song "Fancy" you use the word retard. Do you know what that word means? If you don't, check out the SpeadTheWordToEndTheWord.com or even Google it because you are offending not only those who have a disability but their families and friends as well.

Just because you can rap and parade your body around in front of millions of people doesn't make you worth the money you have!
You say your not a slut or skank but i beg to differ..
It's ok for a woman to dance like you do for one man in the privacy of your own home but what you do makes you trashy in my eyes.
Your not the only one though so no offense. Men are scum!
I'm probably the best man you'll ever hear from. Money doesn't make me a good man.
Women don't get it!
They never will..
The problem is this..there are alot of loser guys everywhere in this world and they go to your shows..
Not because of your fake stage name..they go to stare at your ass and mind fuck you for hours.
There all losers!
Just because you lose your accent when you rap and can rhyme while twerking doesn't make you special.
In a real mans eyes..i cry for all of you!!!
This world is a terrible place..
But not for you!! Is it?
Good for you though that your rich and countless losers want to finger you..
The music industry makes me sick, and it's responsible for generating so many losers in this world..men and women

I love your music! You are a talented rap artist. Why are you letting the haters get to you?! Who cares if the black rap community doesn't embrace you?! I'm black and I think you're music is awesome! They hate on you because you are smashing it. They hate on you because you are a threat. They hate on you because they are jealous. When people ask you what is your response to Nicki Minaj or anybody else, you should say "I don't respond to haters. I do what I do for my fans." When they criticize you for not rapping in an Australian accent, tell them "I don't have to explain myself to haters. The only people I owe anything to are my fans." Where is that sassy, confident young woman we see in the videos? That's who your fans want to see. When others rappers dis you just say, "They can keep doing them cause I'm gonna keep doing me." Don't take down your social media page because some idiot tried to embarrass you by showing a picture of you with a little cellulite. All you had to say was, "I'm not trying to be a stick model. I'm a real woman and real woman have curves. And I'm proud of my curves. So whoever posted that pic can kiss my big beautiful ass." When other rappers hate on you for not writing all your songs, own it! Tell them, "I write, I collaborate, and sometimes I sing songs that I didn't right because I feel them. Most singers, by the way, don't only do songs that they write themselves. And that doesn't make them less of an artist. All people care about is good music. Music that makes them feel something. They don't care where a song come from if it's hot. If I don't feel a song, I don't do it and that's what makes an artist authentic." The truth is all of these rappers who only "spit raps that they write" are limiting their creative and earning potential. Tell all these haters that you're not going to let anybody put you in a box and tell you who should be. Again, the only people you answer to are your fans and it's for them that you do what you do. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and saying stuff like "Why don't they hate on Eminem?" Who cares?! You don't need their stamp of approval! The only stamp of approval you should be trying to get is from your fans. And your fans want to see a sassy, confident young woman who doesn't take any crap and doesn't bend at the slightest wind! Own it! You deserve to be where you are. Don't let a bunch of jealous idiots convince you that you don't. People don't look up to people who come across as weak. Stand up for yourself. This is showBUSINESS not showFRIENDS. Keep your mind on your money and that means giving your fans what they want-- great music and a strong, confident Iggy Azalea. Because if you don't believe you're the "shit'" and deserve to be where you are, how can you expect anybody else to. Get it together! Don't say crazy stuff like you're glad you didn't win a Grammy because they would just hate you even more. Stop wasting time dwelling on what the haters have to say and invest it in your fans and your music. because like Taylor Swift (who knows a little about haters) says, "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate!" If your ticket sales are stalling, it's because your fans are losing confidence in you. And not because of anything the haters have said but because you seem to be losing confidence in yourself. You need a kick in the ass so here it is! Surround yourself with people who won't let you get caught up in this hater nonsense! People who will give you a swift kick in the ass when you start to feel sorry for yourself. Stop dwelling on the bad and focus on the good. If you plan to be in this business for a while you need to have thicker skin. If you don't, get out now.

You won that Billboard music award FAIR AND SQUARE those people who are angry and upset are just not fans and they should just be ignored. You deserve that award just as much as Nicki Minaj does and if they can't see that then they aren't true fans.

Your music is fun and flirty and I feel like you are bringing back my mom's visual from back in her days. Having a figure is sexy; however, a young boy on a horse while you are sayin', pussy, pussy, huh, pussy, is very degrading to a young man. I know it seems like he is just the lucky one, but that tis porno-graphical entitlement. That is sickening and is a path for abusers. Pedophilia is almost incurable, and females have raped boys.

Is that acceptable to you? Women are beaten and broken in this world while you are training sexual dominance of whom?

Hi Iggy! My Daughter's birthday is August 18th, 2006. I was supposed to throw/host a party for her 9th birthday on 8/30/15, BUT, because of my health issues/medical disabilities & our lack of finances & all our MANY problems in life being topped off by losing our home, that party had to be indefinitely postponed. Since July though, she has been adiment that Iggy Azalea is to be her party theme, & it is going to be. :-) She gets upset though every time I have to reminder her that there are no party favors or supplies with you/your name on it; which I find cutely funny, lol. Well, I can FINALLY throw her that party this Sunday, 10/18/15, and I am asking, through all of our crap in life (that is unending, including people continuing to hurt us), is there ANY CHANCE that you could send her a card, an email, a FB Message or Post, give her a call on that day between 1:00PM & 4:00PM, and/or etc.!?!?!? She DESPERATELY needs & REALLY deserves something good, positive, fantastic like that in her life right now, including to show her that there ARE good people somewhere out there in this World!!! If you do get to read this, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEEEEAAAAAASE really consider helping my baby girl out in this VERY small way, thank you!!! <3 & XXX

I wasn't a fan of you since day 1 and we don't know each other and this could mean nothing our rap game is pretty awesome and you seem super nice and cool and it sucks you get so much negative feed back. But ayy look at Justin Bieber. Everyone hated him and now he's the biggest thing ever. Your time will come if you work at it!
YOU ROCK FAM !
