Meryl Streep is a three-time Academy Award winner, she is regarded as the "best actress of her generation". Streep made her professional stage debut in The Playboy of Seville in 1971, and went on to receive a 1976 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for A Memory of Two Mondays/27 Wagons Full of Cotton. She made her screen debut in the 1977 television film The Deadliest Season, and made her film debut later that same year in Julia. In 1978, she won an Emmy Award for her role in the miniseries Holocaust, and received her first Academy Award nomination for The Deer Hunter. Nominated for 19 Academy Awards in total, Streep has more nominations than any other actor or actress in history, winning Best Supporting Actress for Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), and Best Actress for Sophie's Choice (1982) and for The Iron Lady (2011).
Streep is one of only six actors to have won three or more competitive Academy Awards for acting. Her other nominated roles are The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981), Silkwood (1983), Out of Africa (1985), Ironweed (1987), A Cry in the Dark (1988), Postcards from the Edge (1990), The Bridges of Madison County (1995), One True Thing (1998), Music of the Heart (1999), Adaptation (2002), The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Doubt (2008), Julie & Julia (2009), August: Osage County (2013), and Into the Woods (2014). She returned to the stage for the first time in over 20 years in The Public Theater's 2001 revival of The Seagull, won a second Emmy Award in 2004 for the HBO miniseries Angels in America (2003), and starred in the Public Theater's 2006 production of Mother Courage and Her Children. As an actress, Streep is particularly known for her chameleonic approach to her roles, transformation into the characters she plays, and her perfection of accents.

Im sorry if you feel that way but as you have said it po. her being a good actress does nothing to do with having an outburst love for your country. if you let her fall into her craft which is acting dont you think that it would be a better decision to go into politics. if you really dont want her to be in politics why dont you watch her movies. make her crazy rich with her craft for her to able to help other people that she wont need to go to politics just to help other people.

Dear Meryl Streep, You are a very good actress and you give the public a chance to escape to a fantasy world for a while, but that is what you get paid for, entertainment. We the People of this Nations have brains and are well capable of using it! We knew who we wanted for a President and we quietly voted for him. The other candidate was flawed and that it is why we she lost. We do not need celebrities like you speaking for us, because there are a majority of people who are smarter than you and the rest of Hollywood. You continue on about Clinton winning the majorityof the popular vote, but Trump won 33 of 50 states. We the People of this Nation do not want only California and New York voting for us. The right of the people of this Nation have the right to vote not just Liberal Calfornia and Liberal New York. Keep up with your Political rants about our President. This will be the your only way to be in the lime light, because We the People will actually start boycotting your movies, in Theaters, Cable and T.V. You will be a has been before you know it.
Hypocrisy does nothing for your career
You trash our President every chance you get but you give a standing ovation to a child molester. What about Harvey Weinstein your dear friend? Hollywood is full of hypocrisy and dirty little secrets and they are starting to fall out of the closet. You have lost the respect of a lot of the American public if you had any respect you would have kept your opinions to yourself but no you had to do what the rest of hollyweird is doing and try to make yourself look big. All you have done is soil your reputation and you should apologize to our President, but you won't because you don't care about anyone but you. If you did I could at least have some respect for you again.
The world we live in
After reading this hate commentary about Meryl Streep’s criticism towards Donald trump I was kind of shocked but mostly disappointed. Why Terry Bonnel would hate in Streep for criticism towards trump seems really foolish. I mean look at what we are now as a country, The pain the tears that Donald Trump has suppressed upon us. He has made multiple mistakes that somebody has so much power shouldn’t be making. Meryl Streep was taking this opportunity to make something more for Of her career not less. For example she may be acting and some people may assume that she’s living the high life up in Hollywood when in reality herself awareness and understanding on our world espically in her golden speech touch his heart and makes happiness, is Donald Trump has never. If anything I would say she’s using her career, Power and fame to talk for the people who don’t have that voice. To me it’s amazing I wanted to say thank you for standing up for those who can’t and don’t have the power. And Terry Bonell I hope that before you embarrass your self by being a hypocrite in scolding someone for “trash talking” through trash taking them you reflect on yourself and the world we live in. Our president may have the golden title but that doesn’t mean we have to bow down. There been a million leaders I history like Hitler but they were awful people. People Gandhi and MLK where the ones hated with little government power yet they are heroes. For all we know maybe Meryl Streep will be that hero, dont shame her thank her!
