Colin Luther Powell (born April 5, 1937) is an American statesman and a retired four-star general in the United States Army. He was the 65th United States Secretary of State, serving under U.S. President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005, the first African American to serve in that position. During his military career, Powell also served as National Security Advisor (1987–1989), as Commander of the U.S. Army Forces Command (1989) and as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1989–1993), holding the latter position during the Persian Gulf War. I think you are a great American and demand respect. And I believe that it takes a great man to lead a great nation. I also believe that you are the man the American people need. When I see the road that this beautiful country of ours is heading it almost makes me ashamed, almost. Then I see a story of a man named General Colin Powell and I think that's the man we Americans need. Sir I say your job is not over and this country needs a man just like you. Make America great starts with a great man and you are a great man.

General Powell:
I, and many other white voters, as well as African American, Hispanic and other ethnic peoples, who love this country of ours, are shaking in our boots as to the direction that both internal and world politics are being adversely affected by the current administration. We know that you have chosen for many years now, to stay out of the political and Presidential arena. I am going to make my appeal to you, very plain. In GODS name, please consider making a run for President, the next coming national election, and save this country from total disaster. We believe that you are the ONLY person on this planet that could bring all sides together in a common effort, to change the leadership of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA that will again benefit the citizens and the World community, thus regaining our leadership role in the world community before the current administration makes a fatal mistake, bringing to bear WW III, and the end of civilization as we know it.

General Powell, won’t you please run for President? We need someone strong, respectful, and trustworthy with America’s safety and care for the people in office. We are a great country and we are the laughing stock now. Someone with your integrity, experience and courage is nedddd. Won’t you please consider this? I’m sorry to ask but I feel we are in dire need.

My greatest disappointment is that Gen Powell never ran for President . My father in law, who heard then Col Powell speak when they both were in the army in Germany, 30 years ago, said he could vote for him if he ran for President. So, his inspiration didn't start with the Iraq war. But he gave us countless years of service that we can never repay and think the General enough.

General Powell,
WE THE PEOPLE need a leader now. A leader with credibility and ethics, who doesn't make decisions based on peoples color or race. I grew up in the military where my father taught me to respect a person for who they are and not their color. Pride has been absent from this country and bigotry with division has taken over. Please consider a run for president and save this country we both love.

Dear General Powell,

Thank you for speaking the truth about what is going on in our nation and the threat to our democracy since Trump took office. I so appreciate you speaking up on Jake Tapper and I hope Americans that voted for Trump see your interview and take your advice to use common sense and think of the welfare of our entire nation and America's position and responsibility in the world.

I appreciated your insight that you shared in this interview about our current president's actions. I really need to hear more intelligent, fair-minded opinions on tv.
It's hard to filter the truth with all the noise in the news now. Thank you so much for insight.
