Kelly Ripa

Birth Name:
Kelly Maria Ripa
Best Known For:

co-host of "Live! With Kelly and Michael"

Short bio:

Kelly Maria Ripa was born on October 2, 1970 in Stratford, NJ. She graduated from Eastern High School in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, where she was a cheerleader and was later encouraged by her drama teacher to pursue acting. She attended Camden County College studying psychology, but dropped out and moved to New York City to be an actress. Ripa's first national television exposure came in 1986 when she appeared as a regular dancer on "Dancin' On Air" and would often do news reports on the show. The role that made Ripa a star was in 1990 as Hayley Vaughan, a troubled party girl, on the soap "All My Children" and she stayed in the role for 12 years, doing two guest appearances in 2010 to help celebrate the show's 40th anniversary.

In 2000, after co-host Kathie Lee Gifford's final show on "Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee", Regis Philbin began holding on-air auditions to find Gifford's replacement. Philbin later said that Ripa was first among the potential candidates including Jane Krakowski, Valerie Bertinelli, Dolly Parton, and Bernadette Peters. She was announced as official replacement on February 5, 2001. Within months, the renamed "Live! with Regis and Kelly"'s young-audience demographics increased by 80 percent with Ripa credited for bringing "a new life to the show." Ripa replaced Philbin when he retired as the head of the show in November 2011. Michael Strahan was announced as a new co-host and "Live! with Kelly and Michael" premiered September 4, 2012.

Ripa is also known for her role as Faith Fairfield on the short-lived "Hope & Faith." Additionally, Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos own a New York based production company, Milojo; and in 2012, The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the Most Powerful People in Media.

Some men also enjoy your show and appreciate Michael. We will not like to see Anderson Cooper or any other homosexual as your co-host. Please select a normal male as your next co-host. Peyton manning would be excellent,

I think donnie or mark wahlburg would be a good choice. They are not gay and they represent boston!

Seriously???? A "normal" male??? Being a co-host of a talk show has absolutely nothing to do with your sexuality. A good co-host is one that has a good rapport with the other host. The interaction between The Two Hosts is what the attraction of the show is if they are compatible and vans enjoy them together it does not matter if one of them is gay or not. You are a bigot.

Kelly, please do not choose Andy Cohen as a co host. Same opinion of Jimmy Kimmel. They both over talked you and guest. They think it's their show! Not good! Fred Savage would be our first choice so far.

We think that Rob Lowe would be a wonderful co-host.

Ms. Ripa. I want to say I go way back as a BIG fan from All My Children. You are a great actor and wonderful host. In regards to Joy Behar comments about your over reacting to your co-host's departure was in very poor taste. This was an "A" "B" conversation and she needs to "C" her way out of it. As for the Network not telling you, shame on them. After all the show is called "LIVE with KELLY. My perception is you DON'T need a co-host. You can hold your own. The show should remain "LIVE with KELLY" and continue to have a special co-host now and then based on your input.

Joy was right, Kelly's reaction to Michael Strayhan was childish and unprofessional. The only reason she chose Ryan Seacrest is becausr she can boss him around. Now she's saying things about Regis. How unprofessional. Grow up Kelly

Lulu Burgess in Beaufort has a lovely lady, you're prototypical southern belle with alot of whit name is Nan, check her out on the FB videos called Filmtastic Friday. She has become a local celebrity and has been shared around the country. I think Kelly would have a good time with her, she gives her opinion in the funniest ways

I was at a taping yesterday and was extremely impressed with how wonderful the experience was. Kelly is adorable, appears to love what she does, and she engages with her audience perfectly. I was already a fan but after seeing Kelly in person and experiencing her down to earth attitude she is my idol. Kudos to you, Kelly! Such a professional and wonderful young lady!

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT HAVE Jerry O'Connell or Anderson Cooper as Kelly's Strahan replacement,. Anderson Cooper sucks and is a boring gay. Jerry O'Connell is on crack or cocaine {TOO HYPER AND VERRRY ANNOYING} Like other fans say, O'connell is trying to overtalk and take over the show like it is his own. If Cooper or O'connell become the permanent replacement i will REFUSE TO WATCH KELLY ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!

So I am sure this will be laughed at but why not give a non-Hollywood/Athelete/non-famous guy a shot,,,At least for a day...Kelly alone has enough star power to carry it off but sometimes, maybe having just the normal dude up there with her may make it more tangible to the audience...just an idea

OMG your promos are so stupid. so ridiculous. i thought you were an actress and still you cant even make these seem somewhat...no words. i change the channel now. i cant watch this commercial program anymore.

You always look so nice. I was surprised that no one made sure you look presentable in front of the cameras. You had a carpet string dangling from your right heel at least the last half of your show. Great show...thank you.

Jerry O'Connell (sp?) is the best choice for co-host. I'll watch any day he's on.
So many others that have been tested are a turn-off.
Jerry is so funny and likeable.

hello Miss Kelly, from Calgary, Alberta..I heard on an entertainment show Jerry O'Connell is not in the running to be your seat mate....use your position and power to have him in the running...he's hillarious with you...however, I would prefer to see your husband as you both are electrical...what do exec's know!!!N

I think it's obvious with all the hype that has been going on that her ratings have dropped big time, we haven't watched her since that Michael's departure and your Diva behavior it's time to move on. We watch Harry which is a much more entertaining show. If you can't carry the show it's time to go.

Hey so I was thinking I would be a great candidate for a co-host. No I don't have a broadcasting degree or any tv experience but I am a black belt in taekwondo and a leathal ping pong player. Plus all the fellas you've let co-host are already making six figures they will just leave you again. We don't need to bring up my salary but I do have a 401k plan wooooo. Did I mention I'm an only child still living with his parents. We are like a tribe of Indians and I'm holding the fort down like I got four hands. With me I'm gonna stick with you through the long haul, through thick and thin. Pick me as you new co host and get me out of my parents house haha.

I can't imagine why you chose him. Perhaps he's a Disney pick which reflects the fact that he's NOT
A GROWN UP. He's using your platform to get attention because you are THE BEST on morning tv.
He's a user. You need a co-host, preferably a male that is intelligent and is capable of CO-hosting
with you.

Kelly, I'm a jersey girl. Today I had to attend my children's grandfather's funeral. I've been divorced from their father since 2003. I can relate to your kids not wanting to hug you. My eldest daughter did just hug me and praying every moment she wouldn't get me sick, but my baby the boy would not although I could see he needed my hug. It wasn't about not loving you. It is more about worried about making you sick
.I haven't been lockdown because I work in pharmaceutical glass, my son as well is considered essential and is doing his job. He's worried about all this, he lost his poppi to cancer, but is afraid to lose me or his father to the virus. My family is the same mix spanish/english.my son flat out refused to hug me. It hurts, but he refused but not lack of love. Although you have been quarantined together, they still see it as a risk. My son is only 26 and I am 50. He just lost his abuelo he doesn't want to risk losing me, his sister, or papi as well. He wouldn't even huf his abuela. God bless, try not to take it to heart, I did but I see the kids are more worried about keeping us. They love you mami. You'll never see this but I wrote it anyway.

Kelly, I'm looking at the picture of your beautiful Family all dressed in white in Italy for your sons' graduation, however, it looks like you only have one foot in this picture & THAT one is on the incorrect side of your body. It's a lovely picture, but now I am obsessed with trying to locate your feet in it.

I love Kelly, she has always been a breath of fresh air in the morning. I have watched her since she started. I am a huge fan.
What Kathy Lee said was unprofessional, she said she never talked badly about anyone and she did, and so did Regis. Kelly only was defending herself, the other two were just being ugly.

I think you are a fantastic game show host. You seem to show caring toward the contestants.
