Mike Trout

Short bio:

Michael Nelson "Mike" Trout (born August 7, 1991) is a professional baseball center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Major League Baseball (MLB). Trout is an American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award winner and three-time All-Star since becoming a regular player in 2012.

Trout was a first round pick by the Angels in the 2009 MLB draft, and made a brief major league appearance in 2011. He became a regular player for the Angels the subsequent season, and unanimously won the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year Award. Trout finished second in AL MVP voting in 2012 and 2013, before winning the award in 2014, along with the 2014 AL Hank Aaron Award. Trout is under contract at the Angels until the end of the 2020 season.

Trout's MLB performances have received praise from both the mainstream media and sabermetricians, and he is regarded as one of the most outstanding young players in baseball.

Hello,
My name is Jason. I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and I am a fan of all my sports teams, (what we affectionately call 4 for 4's). I am writing you with the intent of showing you the impact your presence could make in Phillies pinstripes. Our sports heroes of the past (Dawkins, Clarke, Erving, Schmidt, et al...) walk among the gods when it comes to their legacies they left behind. However, with your standing in the local communities along with your having grown up in New Jersey, I truly believe you could be labeled as the greatest pro athlete ever to come through Philadelphia. When and if you become a free agent, the biggest question becomes, When is the money not enough? When does the legacy you leave behind become more important than the financial footprint you stand in? Lets be honest, wherever you go the money will be there in truck loads. Rotting away in Anaheim for a city that has 1/4 of the passion as Philadelphia seems like one of the greatest misuses of talent maybe ever. To come home and be loved by the town you grew up following and rooting for seems like the greatest legacy any pro athlete can strive for. I'm 40 years old and my 8 and 6 year old cheer for you whenever we get a chance to watch you play. Simply because you are a hometown athlete. And we always stand behind what's ours. Philly's reputation as being hard on our athletes is also known as something else: love and passion. Keep that in mind when that tough decision comes to be rooted for or to be loved. Thanks for your time.

Mike Trout is NOT rotting away in Anaheim!!! You say Philli has fans that are much more devoted to the game. I do agree with you on that, as when I go to a game here in Anaheim, most of the fans would rather socialize with one another than "get into the game." THAT DOES NOT GO FOR EVERYONE HERE THOUGH!!!!!! I am as much a fan as anyone in Philli if not more so! I love Mike Trout, platonic ally of course Mr. Trout!!! I can be heard throughout the neighborhood when ever mike even gets a hit, a bloop single!!! I own ten's of thousands of dollars of his baseball cards, have sought out his autograph like a 10 year old (and still have yet to get it Mr. Trout), pay exhuberant amounts of money for tickets to see him up close, and the list could keep on going but I don't want to scare anyone away from reading this post. I am a 40 year old Biology Teacher in California, love baseball as it is alive in my bones! Derek Jeter is a legend and he stayed with the same team his whole career which adds to his legacy. I grew up a Tony Gwynn Fan, idolized him, he was my hero growing up! He stayed with the same team when he could have gone out and gotton more money anywherere! My hope is that you stay with the Angels your whole career Mike! You will get a championship, of that I have no doubt. There are people here in Anaheim who appreciate your hard work and dedication to the game of baseball Mr. Trout! Please never forget that!

Sincerely,

Mr. Benjamin William Dix

Hi Mr. Trout. My name is Padraic Haggerty. I am a huge fan of yours and I was hoping you option out your contract this off-season and sign with the Philadelphia Phillies because you are from the Philly area. Besides, I think you would make a very valuable part of the Phillies organization and they have so much young talent from Triple A so I thought maybe you would like to give them a chance and get to know them a little bit.

Hi Mike! My name is Max - I'm a freshman in college from Philly attending UPenn. I have been a huge fan of yours since I was 10—so much so I bought three of your now coveted rookie cards. I knew you'd be fantastic, even back when you were a 19-year old minor leaguer. I stored your rookie cards away for years and kept them in pristine condition. As a 19-year old myself, I will be facing the cost of joining the "big leagues": college tuition. If you continue to play at the legendary caliber you have been since I was a 4th grader, your autographed rookie card (let alone 3) could help relieve my debt after I graduate. It would mean the world if you would consider this deed, and help out a fellow Eagles and baseball fan. I wish you the best of luck this upcoming season. Thank you so much!

Best,
Max

I almost won a card if you hit a home run 425 feet but during that game you hit the ball 422 feet can you believe the luck it would have been something special for my collection I'm saving for my boys... your are by far my favorite baseball player and I'm 44 years old... keep up the awesome work...

I was viewing a UTube presentation featuring your top trading card picks. I also have a collection of your cards. I started collecting in 2017 after the death of my husband and retirement. I have cards I purchased at thrift stores, Target, Walmart and Goodwill.
