Kyrie Andrew Irving (born March 23, 1992) is an Australian-American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He attended Duke University before being selected as the 1st overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cavaliers. He won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2012. Irving was born in Melbourne, Australia and grew up in West Orange, New Jersey.

You're one of the main reasons I am still vastly interested in the nba. I want to say thank you for standing up for something you believe in, something that is important. Hey my name is Trevor Joyner and I recently heard of your unfortunate happening with Nike and am sorry for you. I started playing basketball 4 weeks ago as I picked up a love for the sport. I am a freshman attending Klein Cain high school and am going varsity for cross country and track and am a JV swimmer but I have postponed those for my love of basketball and am one of your biggest fans. I get home from cross country track and swim practice a 3:30 and practice until about 8:30 non stop some times it feels like my family doesn’t care but you have kept my dedication to basketball strong.
