Short bio:

Kanye Omari West (/ˈkɑːnjeɪ/; born June 8, 1977) is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, director, entrepreneur, and fashion designer. West first gained prominence as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records; he achieved recognition for his work on rapper Jay-Z's The Blueprint (2001), as well as hit singles for musical artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Janet Jackson. His style of production originally used high-pitched vocal samples from soul songs incorporated with his own drums and instruments. He later broadened his influences to include 1970s R&B, baroque pop, trip hop, arena rock, house, folk, alternative, electronica, synthpop, industrial, and classical music.

West's background and style, from his debut album, deviated from the then-dominant "gangsta" persona in hip hop, and he would later alter the genre stylistically as rappers adopted his alternative aesthetic. An outspoken and controversial celebrity, West has often been the source of incidents at award shows. His interest in fashion has also attracted media attention and differentiates West from other artists. West runs his own record label GOOD Music and has directed several short films.

Dear Kanye, I just wanted to thank you for standing up for freedom of thought. It seems we are living in a time where if you dont walk in lockstep with the liberal minions that you will be branded a racist, biggot, homophobe...or even mentally impared. It is all designed to silence free thought and speech. I thank God Donald Trump was elected because he too Has the courage to do whats right in the face incredible odds and opposition. I have never really listened to rap much but Because of everything i have been listening to your music and you are a talented man. God Bless.

Dear Kanye, I am a 60 year old woman from Pennsylvania who has listened to and loved your music for decades. I have my two sons to thank for that. Thank you for not being afraid to speak your mind about President Trump. You are fearless. Speaking your mind in America shouldn’t be daunting. I was at a New Jersey beach two weeks ago and a man who overheard my friend and I speaking about President Trump turned around and was screaming filth because he ear hustled us. He went on his tirade and that is the first time since I starting voting that I felt like I am being accosted because of my right to think for myself. I don’t do that to the Dems. Our country chooses a president and we should move on. I never attacked anyone or went on a mission to attack Presidents that I didn’t want. People are afraid of change, we need term limitations and representatives who take our ideas to Washington. Kanye, just keep on being Kanye, okay?

I just watched you in David Letterman’s Netflix show and how he shut down the conversation when you lit up the issue that liberals shame and scare those who voted for Trump. Thank you for continuing to talk about this. I want to choose for myself how I vote without being bullied. My son loves your music and if I can find a clean version I am adding you to my listening - because of your beautiful mind and heart - sending you love and blessings

Just listened to a couple of interviews and I'm a new fan! Stand strong against liberal bullies! You are enlightened ! What you say resonates !! You are the only one, so far, that is enlightened in Hollywood. Not even Ophra in all her spiritual groping through the years is even close!!

Be careful, Satan is the biggest liar and deceiver. I believe by Kanye's fruit he is being deceived! He isn't going to show you the way, the narrow road, Ephesians says do not confirm to the world! Kanye is.

I just want to thank you for standing up to liberal Hollywood! What courage it took for you to voice your opinion on free thought and free speech. God bless you!

Thanks for standing up to the liberal bullies. I have great respect for someone in the spotlight not afraid think outside the box and not conform to what Hollywood and the liberals want you to. You have not let them bring you down. I wish others who are afraid to speak out would also. By the way SNL sucks, too liberal.

You are a" Diamond in the Rough" my new favorite famous person. You are thoughtful, respectful and full of of true love. I'm not on ANY social media. My only exposure to who you are, I just saw on TMZ (which I don't care for but there was nothing else on) and I caught your interview. You didn't let Harvey put words in your mouth, which is what all jounalists do. Stand TALL and PROUD and UNAPOLOGETIC. You will have more support of the silent majority. Run for office, I'll vote for you. Here's a clue to your fan base-- I am a 50 something, white, successful government contractor, female, from Arizona.

Dear Kanye, I am so proud of you for standing for our president. I am white and anytime I voice my support for my president I am accused of being racist. It infuriates me but still I maintain civility and calmly state I am no racist and neither is my president. I thank you for recognizing the good he is doing for all the country no matter our skin color. I know being in the entertainment industry you are really attacked. I want you to know I am praying for you and I want you to know I think you are a patriot. Proud to share the planet with you. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you for standing up for conservatives and the policies of President Trump! We live in a prosperous time for all Americans because of these policies. It is unfortunate that we live in times that our Country is so divided! So much of this division is truly misrepresentation and fears that have been purposely petuated by the media! I truly believe that it is sad that some people actually believe that we all are hateful and/or bigots or do not embrace everyone and their way of life as well. Thank you for being a voice and truly making a positive stand!

Thank you for not allowing the Hollywood liberals to impact your wise judgment. Because of your wisdom and ability to recognize a vision for this country that supersedes prejudice, I thank you. God bless your patriotic lack of bias and the ability to reach across what I consider unnecessary foolishness. We, my friend, are Americans. Not to be labeled by our past ancestry, but judged by the country we have been so blessed to be born in. We all have family history that if good, we should be proud of. But to continue to live in the past is insane. I welcome a new future where we are recognized as one family, the American family. Not judged by skin tone, but valued by positive contribution to the success of this great nation. Thank you again for standing up for your beliefs and not giving in to the folks that want to bring you down!!!!

I commend you for stepping out and speaking out. I appreciate your support of our President and our country. Stay clear, be true to yourself and God bless you for standing up to the Hollywood elite and the leftist-smear-tactics. I think you’re brave. Exodus 14:14

Mr. West, I loved what you said, and really appreciate you saying what at least a half of America thinks. I know as a white person I cannot totally understand what you, your friends and love ones go through in your day to daily lives, but you told President Trump, and almost the whole country beautifully. Have a wonderful and blessed life. Thank you.

Dear Kanye, I know that you most likely won’t see this, but this is something I wanted to ask. Why are English teachers so easily able to tell you that everything that William Shakespeare writes down has a meaning, yet everything you put in an album has a meaning similar to someone like a William Shakespeare. So you think there is some sort of stigma around artists not being able to think on as deep of a level as some others?

I used to have a different view of you my man. But since I’ve gotten to hear your views on issues we face everyday, I think you’re actually pretty down to earth. It’s hard to deal with all the bullshit of the media and what not. But seriously man, just stay focused on whatever you love and forget all the hate. Life is way to short to put any effort into trying to please everyone. We are all on a planet in a universe that is infinite. Who knows what is after this. So just keep being you and that’s all you can do.

Mr. West, I am sure you recognize that Mr. Trump, the current President, has failed the American People abominably. How? He has not recognized the Public Sector of our Economy,-- He's comprised Human Services we all depend upon, like Public Schools, Libraries, Hospitals, Infrastructure, the Post Office, Public Transportation, etc., and that he has, instead, Impoverished it by Cutting Taxes that Corporations Pay; now they (and Trump himself) do not pay their Fair Share! Please tell Trump publicly that You No Longer Will Abide By Unfairness he Foists on All Americans. Tell him you have decided you will support the Obama Legacy politically and that you know this will help Black and White Americans. Your words can be of great influence toward the good. I wish you health and wisdom. (An Artist's letter to you).

I want to thank you Kanye for being so vocal about your love for your “momma”. We are from Tulsa and my 21 year old who struggles expressing himself and has struggled with depression sent me your song one night and said “this says everything I want to say to you, every single word”. He was ten when we were on the CLOSET floor and he told me he would take care of me someday. I turned 50, he surprised me at a birthday party and told me he would give me kick ass gifts someday when he is a successful attorney and I a m an amazing single mom. He was home for Christmas this year and I was crying yet again because I was feeling like I failed my children. He handed me his phone playing your song and told me I need to remember who I am and what I have done and sacrificed to give them everything I could including a roof over their heads. Kanye will never read this. But I hope his fans appreciate the love he feels and shared. Your song lifts me when I am sad because it touched someone I adore enough it spoke to him which helped him speak to me which lifts me up and brought us closer: an amazing chain. As an artist, I’m certain it means a lot to know your song reached at least one person and I have no doubt it reached many. Thank you and your mother who sounds phenomenal and is an inspiration for single moms doing all they can. I have no doubt she rests in peace.

It is so refreshing to hear Kanye West express his opinions in spite of getting the tremendous criticism he receives from doing so. Whether I agree or disagree with his opinions, I will continue to respect the bravery and self-respect he has displays by his expression of honesty and the fact that he remains true to his beliefs without hesitation.
