Riddick in "The Chronicles of Riddick" trilogy
Dominic Toretto in "The Fast and the Furious" film series
Vin Diesel was born on July 18, 1967 in New York City. His first break in acting happened by chance when he was 7-years-old. Diesel and his friends broke into a theatre to vandalize it. There a woman stopped them and offered them each a script and $20, on the condition that they would attend everyday after school.
Diesel came to prominence in the late 1990s beginning with Steven Spielberg's "Saving Private Ryan" in 1998. He is most known for his portrayals of Riddick in "The Chronicles of Riddick" trilogy (2001–2013) and of Dominic Toretto in "The Fast and the Furious" film series (2001–present), two franchises he happens to also play the role of producer. You can also hear Diesel's voice acting work on Brad Bird's "The Iron Giant" (1999), the video games of "The Chronicles of Riddick" franchise, and the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" adaptation of the Marvel comics of the same name.
